Two Arrested In Connection With 2006 Pinyon Pines Triple Murder | Murrieta, Temecula and Hemet Criminal Defense Law Firm

Almost eight years after a triple murder in Pinyon Pines, authorities have arrested two men on suspicion of the slayings.

According to the Press-Enterprise, back in 2006, an 18-year-old woman, her 53-year-old mother and the mother's 55-year-old boyfriend were all shot to death. The home they were in was then set on fire, apparently in an unsuccessful effort to conceal the crime.

Earlier this month, authorities arrested the 16-year-old girl's boyfriend and a 25-year-old man, whom they evidently think was his accomplice. The boyfriend was arrested at his home and the other man was apprehended at the Palm Springs International Airport.

According to a grand jury affidavit seeking a murder indictment, they were linked to the scene of the crime by DNA evidence and cell phone records. They have been taken to the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside and are being held without bail.

If police have finally solved this awful crime, then that is a good thing. Atrocities like this cannot go unaddressed; justice must be done. That being said, we don't know if they have yet. The two men who were arrested, like all people accused of a crime, are innocent until it has conclusively been proven otherwise. They deserve the chance to have their day in court.

Since 1999, the Law Office of Nic Cocis, has worked with clients from all across Riverside County -- Hemet, Corona, Winchester, Lake Elsinore, Murrieta, Menifee, Wildomar, Perris, Banning, Riverside and Temecula -- after they have been accused of crimes, including DUI and juvenile matters.
