A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in San Bernardino, following a fight with another man over a woman.
The incident occurred early the morning of Friday, Oct. 3. San Bernardino police said they were summoned to an address in the 700 block of East Orange Show Road around 7:30 a.m. There, they found a 34-year-old man who had apparently been stabbed multiple times in the torso. The man was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he later died as a result of his injuries. The suspect was arrested at the scene. Police have said both men lived at the same address and that the altercation started over a woman, but have not released further details.
It should go without saying that if the 49-year-old man is charged, the accusations against him will be quite serious. He may be charged with murder or with manslaughter. Those are two different crimes, and the appropriate charge depends on the circumstances of the situation.
Without a doubt, the accused man is feeling remorseful, ashamed and very scared. He is going to need a vigorous ally to make sure that his rights are respected as the criminal justice system proceeds along.
